Grenfell Tower Tenants in West London - Need our Love & Help

Hi Everyone!
I have set up a donation page in conjuction with an approved fund for the Grenfell Tower tenants in West London. They need some love and help at this time and I would be most grateful if you could share just a little bit of your hard earned money to support these people at such a terrible time.

Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund: Grenfell Tower Fire

An appeal has been launched by the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund on behalf of residents of the Grenfell Tower inferno in West London.

The appeal and distribution of funds to victims in need of support will be run by the London Community Foundation which has administered the Dispossessed Fund since it was launched eight years ago. Please donate here

The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund was set up in 2010 to help grassroots charities tackling poverty, inequality and exclusion across the capital. Since its launch in 2010, the Dispossessed Fund has raised £18.02 million from the general public, business, Government, Comic Relief and the Big Lottery. This is the most money ever raised by a newspaper campaign outside of war or natural disaster. So far we have distributed £11.96 million in 1,117 grants, helping more than 150,000 people across the capital. £3.9 million of the funds raised is invested in an endowment. This will remain invested and the interest gained will be used to support community projects for years to come, creating a sustainable source of funding for London. Click here to find out more about the groups we have supported and the work they have achieved so far.  The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund is a restricted fund at The London Community Foundation. They work in partnership with London Community Foundation to distribute monies received to address issues identified by the Evening Standard’s Dispossessed Campaign and to grant fund community organisations undertaking charitable work in London.

Hassan Bin Rashid - Refugee (Demo)

Refugee: a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.

I've been looking at the state of our current affairs as humans and writing new tunes for a new album based on what I was seeing and feeling. This tune really struck a chord in me when I finished writing it. How can one not be affected by whats going on with the state of all the refugees around the world. Specially with some of the resistance they are facing. So I started looking for online footage of refugees that I could use for a video, and I found some powerful images of the children that are caught up in this mess.

Kids. They are just kids. And they are caught up in dangerous war zones and political situations where they have to literally run away from everything they own to go to places they don't know!

I don't know what happened to these children. I hope that they are all safe and have found a place to live!

Although this is just a demo, I hope it will raise a little awareness in the small circle of people that will see it, and I really hope it will move some of you to do one little thing about it. One!!

Here's a link to a charity that will help refugees http://www.refugee-action.org.uk. There are other charities out there. Every little bit helps. I hope to do more to help out in the future.

So here's a new song and new video that I wish I never had to write in the first place!

HBR - Outer Space - Demo (New Album)

https://youtu.be/SMIFxv4IHPk

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to release the debut of my first demo for the new album that I have written, recorded (without bass), and produced a fun little amateur video for.

The new songs explore where we are today as a human race. 'Outer Space' is about how detached one gets from all the big global issues that we want to change but have no power to do so. Instead we chose to look past or avoid dealing with the real issues that matter to us by escaping. We either escape into unhealthy addictions, careers, or hobbies, and we end up forgetting about the things that need our attention. I'm thankful that in the last 4 months my escape has been spending loads of time with my awesome wife in one of the most beautiful places in the world, New Zealand. It's been an awesome experience which has helped inspire the new songs!

This will be my third studio album as HBR and fifth album overall as a recording artist (sixth if u include Skank Sinatra). There is plans to record an EP/Album which is to be released late in 2017. I'm looking forward to hooking up with my long time writing partner, Charlie Cassy, and the rest of the gang to bring the new demos to life in the studio! And hopefully to a stage near you in 2017 :)

Thank you everyone for all your support. Big thanks to all that donated to the charities (almost $10,000). It was the charity donations that really opened my eye to the issues we can help change. I will continue to support these charities and help out as many needy folks as I can around the world.

Wishing you all some peace love and happiness :) I don't care how cliche that sounds, the world needs a whole lot of that right now.

Ciao,
HBR

2Seas Sessions #1 - Hassan Bin Rashid

We were delighted to be asked to kick off the 2Seas Sessions. The 2Seas Studios are very close friends of ours so it was a mixture of business and pleasure (mostly pleasure!)

We rocked six songs including two cover versions. One of my personal favourites from the Stone Temple Pilots, Interstate Love Song, and Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. We had Hamish Stewart on bass, Danny Cummings kept the groove, Jamie Moses played acoustic and a little electric guitars and finally Melvin Duffy played steel & slide.

Have a look and listen to the first of the six. And when you have done that why not check out our buddies over at: 2Seas Sessions maybe give them a like on Facebook too!
